Below is a list of commonly used terms in dealing with Terminal activities.

EIR
Stands for Equipment Interchange Receipt. This is the official computer printed document that serves as a receipt for a driver.

EXPRESS
The Terminal Automation System that oversees all Gate transactions.

GENSET
The generator set used on refrigerated containers.

HANDHELD
TexLogix handheld computer used in Inspection lane to speed process of receiving containers. 

HAZARDOUS
Any cargo deemed hazardous by D.O.T. and/or commodities regulations.

REEFER
Refrigerated cargo container.  Temperature and/or humidity are closely maintained during the entire voyage of container.

ROADABILITY
Inspection Lane Building.

SEAL
Metal strip mechanically attached to handle of container.  Used for security purposes and to uniquely identify if container has been opened in transit.

TIR
Stands for Trailer Interchange Receipt.  Official document computer printed that serves as receipt for driver.
