IMPORTANT Message regarding the APMT Portsmouth Terminal
Effective 06-Jul-2010, Virginia International Terminals, Inc. (VIT), will assume operation of the APMT Container Terminal located in Portsmouth, Virginia. APMT Terminal Customers will see no change in operation or procedures, and all operations at the APMT Terminal will remain unchanged until further notice.

Schedule Change - Out of Gauge Operation
Beginning Monday, 24-May-2010, the APMT OOG Division, Portsmouth Va. will require appointments. Appointments can be made by calling our Break Bulk and Out of Gauge departments at 757-686-6123. Appointments are required for the following: Break bulk, over high open tops or flat racks which need to be lifted from a trucker/shipper owned chassis, flatbed or low boy
Appointment scheduling will be strictly enforced with 24 hr. advance notification required for delivery. (Deliveries arriving without an appointment may incur additional labor and administrative fees). We thank-you in advance for your cooperation!
Effective 22-Feb-2010 - New Payment Guarantee Process for Government Inspection
All Vacis, USDA, and Ship-side Vacis exams will need to be guaranteed on TOPS. The website for this is www.tops-apmt.com.
If you have never registered on this website before you will need to do so by clicking the “Register” button. You will need to know your Tax ID and all contact information. After you submit your registration you should received a response back within an hour letting you know you are good to login.
***** Please note: You will still need to send your Guarantee fax or e-mail for USDA exams in order for the containers to be moved to the exam site.

All Maersk Line containers must be on a Maersk chassis upon gating out of the terminal.
All other Ship Lines' containers are to be on an HRCPII chassis upon gating out of the terminal.
Safety/Security Update
No team drivers, student-instructor combinations or passengers are permitted.
APM Terminals Virginia requires a TWIC to be used electronically as the single badge for access. All driver’s must stop at Driver’s Assistance to register their TWIC in the APM system.
Security screening is in effect for all vehicles and pedestrians. Entering this facility is deemed consent to security screening and monitoring via security cameras.
