APM TERMINALS CUSTOMER/MOTOR CARRIER ADVISORY
RFID TAG - "MANDATORY" GO-LIVE
On July 8th, APM Terminals Elizabeth communicated to the motor carrier community that a “soft” go-live on RFID tag technology would commence on July 14th, 2014, as we asessed the performance of the system.Over the last six (6) weeks of testing, the system has worked exceptionally well, with a 98% or better performance on recognized reads for those drivers with RFID tags properly secured to their vehicles.*
Based on this performance level, and similar to another terminal operator in the port, APM Terminals Elizabeth will commence a “mandatory” process whereby motor carriers will be required to have their RFID tags, properly installed, to affect their inbound gate transaction effective Monday, September 8th, 2014.
Motor carriers with any issues relative to RFID tags can contact:
Port Truck Pass (PTP) Help Line at 1-866-758-3838, or PTP web-site address: www.porttruckpass.com
*Proper mounting of RFID tags on the top of the Driver’s side mirror bracket:
There are no planned row closures at this time.
“Containers impacted by Row Closures on their LFD will be extended by one day”.
The terminal plans on being closed on Columbus Day, Monday, October 13, 2014. ( ILA HOLIDAY)
