IMPORTANT NOTICE

APMT IMS Policy Statement:

APM Terminals and the management team are committed to protecting our colleagues and others who work at or visit our facilities from injuries due to accidents or health-related risks.  We will provide safe and healthful facilities and we will ensure that our operations meet the highest quality standards and are in full compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations.

Accidents cause needless personal suffering to our colleagues and their families.  Damage to our facilities and equipment reduce our ability to serve our customers.  We believe that exposure to these risks can be prevented by all employees and managers maintaining safety as an essential priority and by the enforcement of well-designed safety rules and procedures.  To ensure that we do all that we can to prevent accidents, APM Terminals has adopted a “zero tolerance” policy for unsafe conditions and for employees and managers who do not observe safety-related rules and procedures.

While every one of us is responsible for his/her own personal safety and the safety of those around us, each terminal manager has been appointed as the safety leader at the terminal he/she manages.  In this capacity, the terminal manager is responsible for the overall effectiveness of the terminal’s safety program.  He/she will work with colleagues, labor unions, port authorities and other stakeholders to communicate our focus on safety and solicit support for improvements.

Accidents are avoidable.  Teamwork and personal commitment by all is needed to achieve the highest safety standards to which we have committed ourselves and the APMT organization.  Please do your part to make safety a regular part of your day and to ensure that all APM Terminal colleagues can return home safely to their families and friends at the end of every work day.
