Aqaba Container Terminal Renews ISO 14001 Certification, Reinforcing Its Commitment to Environmental Sustainability Through 2028
Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) has successfully renewed its ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certification, following a comprehensive environmental audit conducted by Bureau Veritas – BIVAC Jordan, a globally recognized certification and auditing body.
The certificate was received on behalf of ACT by Eng. Firas Al-Tawil, General Manager of Security, Safety, Health, and Environment, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing journey toward sustainable and responsible port operations.
The renewed certification, valid through 2028, reflects ACT’s firm commitment to applying global best practices in environmental management, reducing environmental impact, and optimizing operational performance within a structured and internationally recognized framework.
By maintaining compliance with ISO 14001:2015—the world’s most widely adopted environmental management standard—ACT reaffirms its role as Jordan’s gateway to the world and a regional leader in environmentally responsible port operations. This achievement follows the company’s successful completion of its first external follow-up audit under the current certification cycle.
The ISO 14001 framework enables organizations to systematically manage their environmental responsibilities, aligning with ACT’s broader sustainability and decarbonization strategy, and reinforcing its position as a forward-looking logistics hub committed to long-term environmental stewardship.
