Record volume of import deliveries in single day: 497 Containers!

Dear Valued Customers,

Further to Customer Advisory Ref: COMM/025/2020 dated 25^th June 2020, we are pleased to note that extended slots for import delivery containers has been welcomed by the Trade.

We achieved a record of delivering 497 containers in a day on 30^th June 2020.

In addition to import containers for delivery, the Port also handles other gate and CFS transactions, all which have seen improvement. The average daily transactions prior to 01 June was around 875 per day, which has now gone up to almost 1050 transactions, an improvement of 20%!

We take this opportunity to thank the Trade for this positive response. We seek continued support in customers utilizing the additional appointment slots from 17:00 to 20:00 hours. This will help flatten the demand curve, thereby improving service delivery.

We would also like to remind our customers to use appropriate COVID-19 preventive Personal Protective Equipment (Face Mask and Hand Gloves) and maintain social distancing norms at all times. Failure to comply with these requirements at the Terminal Premises, shall result in Port access being restricted and/or services being denied.
