APM Terminals, Bahrain announces departure of Susan Hunter, Managing Director
Mrs. Susan Hunter joined APM Terminals in Bahrain in January 2019. During her tenure as Managing Director she has advanced the strategic and transformational agenda of the company including strengthening the company’s management team including promoting company talent to senior management positions. The operational and commercial performance has steadily improved during Mrs. Hunter’s leadership and Khalifa bin Salman Port is well positioned to continue to deliver exceptional value for the Kingdom of Bahrain, its employees and shareholders in the years to come. Finally, Mrs. Hunter and her team responded with great urgency and determination to face the unique challenge of COVID to protect customers and employees alike.
Brief Biography
Prior to joining APM Terminals in Bahrain, Susan was previously based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where she was Global Head of the Operational Excellence Programme for APM Terminals responsible for implementing corporate strategy across one of the world’s most comprehensive port and integrated inland service networks.She has held several senior management positions with A.P. Møller – Mærsk, focusing on business transformation, growth and development. She joined the organization in 2009 as part of the West and Central Asia Regional Management team, and in 2015 was appointed Global Head of Commercial Transformation charged with driving digital transformation worldwide, across 120 countries. She has also held senior board positions with Maersk Pakistan and the Suez Canal Container Terminal company. Before moving to the MENA region, Susan also held a number of senior positions in the Utilities and Telecom industries within the United Kingdom.
