Customer Advisory: Access to Khalifa Bin Salman Port
Dear Valued Customers,
As part of our continuing efforts aimed at improving the ease of doing business with APM Terminals Bahrain, we are pleased to inform you that the following enhancements have been implemented to the process for gaining access to KBSP for operational and business purposes.
A new feature has been launched which enables port pass applicants to undergo an online Safety Induction without the need to physically visit the port, subject to the applicant having a good safety track record without any violations. This can be done by accessing the Safety Induction video at www.apmterminals.com/bahrain/practical-information/safety followed by an e-mail confirmation addressed to securitygatepass@apmterminals.com
Furthermore, any requests for a port pass to attend to operational emergencies at KBSP, shall be addressed to the functional manager at APMT, who is the primary point of contact for the operational activity being targeted. Once the requirement for attending to an emergency has been validated, the functional manager, shall confirm the same to our security team and the applicant. Thereafter the applicant will be expected to complete the online gate pass application process, before following up further with the APMT Security Supervisor on 3888 5540, by quoting the reference number of the application.
Working closely with the external stakeholders involved, we have also streamlined the gate pass application process resulting in a reduced lead time of a maximum of 48 hours for obtaining approvals for entry into the port.
Improvements to the port pass application is the latest among several customer facing initiatives that have been launched in the recent past. These include:
- Track & Trace – Check status of containers based on criteria such as Import availability, Export booking enquiry and Container event history. Also check the latest vessel schedule for KBSP.
- Gate Pass application – Submit a request for temporary/permanent port pass and track its status
- Gate status – View live video feed of the terminal main gate and monitor truck turn time and average scanning times
- LIFT – Order and pay for additional services. Schedule and manage container appointments.
- Ancillary Services – Process additional service requests (ASR). Access and confirm Terminal Departure Reports (TDR).
- Appointment Availability – Check the availability of appointment slots per hour for container bookings for the next 10 days. Also check the number of daily appointments available for the Container Freight Station (CFS) for the same period. This appointment availability overview is updated twice daily.
- Empty Container Inventory – Obtain a summary of the inventory of empty containers available at the terminal. Data is updated twice a week with a provision to display the previous 10 events.
- General Cargo – Order general cargo services online.
- Export Bookings – View container history and create bookings for export containers.
- Statistics – View throughput and trade lane statistics from 2011 till date.
We sincerely hope that these continued improvements will enable our customers to conduct their business at the terminal is a smooth and efficient manner.
Thanking you for your support
Sincerely Yours,
APM Terminals Bahrain
