APM Terminals Bahrain – The Official Operator of Khalifa Bin Salman Port Celebrates The World Maritime Day

APM Terminals Bahrain, the official operator of Khalifa Bin Salman Port, celebrated World Maritime Day, an international occasion that highlights the vital role of the maritime sector in supporting global trade, strengthening connectivity between countries and markets, and ensuring the continuity of supply chains. The occasion also provides an opportunity to recognise the contribution of maritime and port professionals in maintaining safe and efficient maritime operations. 

As part of the occasion, APM Terminals Bahrain organised a practical activity highlighting the nature of marine operations associated with a vessel’s departure from the port, with the participation of the relevant marine operations teams. 
 
The activity reflected the importance of coordination and integration between different teams to ensure operations are carried out efficiently and in line with the highest safety standards. It also highlighted the resilience and readiness of the Marine Team in maintaining the continuity of vessel berthing and unberthing operations during challenging circumstances, supported by safe pilotage, towage and effective operational coordination. 

Commenting on the occasion, Matthew Luckhurst, Managing Director of APM Terminals Bahrain, said: “The World Maritime Day provides an important opportunity to recognise the vital role of the maritime sector and the people who support it in enabling trade and maintaining supply chains.

He added that efficient maritime operations depend on continuous coordination and collaboration between different teams, emphasising the importance of developing capabilities and strengthening a culture of safety and operational excellence in support of a sustainable maritime sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. 

APM Terminals Bahrain reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the development of the Kingdom’s port and logistics sector, strengthening safety and operational efficiency, and investing in the development of national talent.

احتفلت ايه بي إم تيرمينالز البحرين، المشغّل الرسمي لميناء خليفة بن سلمان، باليوم العالمي للملاحة، الذي يمثل مناسبة عالمية لتسليط الضوء على أهمية القطاع البحري ودوره الحيوي في دعم حركة التجارة الدولية، وتعزيز الترابط بين الدول والأسواق، وضمان استمرارية سلاسل الإمداد. كما يشكل هذا اليوم فرصة للتعريف بالدور الذي يؤديه العاملون في القطاع البحري والموانئ في الحفاظ على كفاءة وسلامة العمليات البحرية. 

وبهذه المناسبة، نظّمت ايه بي إم تيرمينالز البحرين نشاطاً عملياً سلّط الضوء على طبيعة العمليات البحرية المرتبطة بمغادرة السفن من الميناء، بمشاركة فرق العمليات البحرية المعنية. وعكس النشاط أهمية التنسيق والتكامل بين مختلف الفرق لضمان تنفيذ العمليات بكفاءة ووفق أعلى معايير السلامة، كما أبرز مرونة وجاهزية فريق العمليات البحرية في الحفاظ على استمرارية عمليات رسو ومغادرة السفن خلال الظروف الاستثنائية والتحديات التشغيلية، من خلال الإرشاد والقطر الآمن والتنسيق الفعّال بين الفرق.

وأكدت ايه بي إم تيرمينالز البحرين مواصلة التزامها بدعم تطوير قطاع الموانئ والخدمات اللوجستية في المملكة، وتعزيز معايير السلامة والكفاءة التشغيلية، إلى جانب الاستثمار في تطوير الكفاءات الوطنية.
