Dear Valued Customers,

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency and cargo processing at Khalifa Bin Salman Port, APM Terminals Bahrain, in coordination with Bahrain Customs, will introduce a pilot Night De-stuffing Operation at the Container Freight Station (CFS).

Effective Date

The pilot will commence on Friday, 9 October 2026 and will run for an initial five-day trial period.

Operating Arrangement

• Night De-stuffing: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Customs Inspection and Cargo Delivery: From 7:00 AM onwards

Customer and Clearing Agent Requirements

To support the smooth execution of the pilot, customers and their appointed clearing agents are requested to ensure the following:

1. All container documents must be submitted to the warehouse team by 16:00 on the day before the appointment, to allow de-stuffing activities to be planned.
2. Clearing agents holding appointments for the respective day must be present at KBSP CFS Shed No. 2 by 07:00 to complete the required inspection and/or delivery formalities.
3. The respective clearing company must provide authorization to APM Terminals Bahrain to open and de-stuff the container during the night shift in accordance with the approved process.
4. Customers and clearing agents must ensure that all transport arrangements and any other required documentation are coordinated in advance to avoid delays to inspection and cargo delivery.

Process

Containers included in the pilot will be de-stuffed during the night shift, with cargo prepared in advance for inspection and/or delivery the following morning.

As per the existing process, APM Terminals Bahrain remains responsible for the de-stuffing operation and for maintaining the security and safety of the cargo during the opening and de-stuffing process.
A detailed operating process covering the responsibilities of clearing agents, CFS Operations, Bahrain Customs, MMETCo and transport providers has been established for the pilot.
Following the five-day trial, the effectiveness of the arrangement will be reviewed with the objective of improving turnaround times, reducing operational delays and enhancing the overall customer experience at the CFS.

سيتم تفريغ الحاويات المشمولة ضمن هذا التشغيل التجريبي خلال الفترة الليلية، بحيث تكون البضائع جاهزة لإجراءات التفتيش و/أو التسليم في صباح اليوم التالي. 
ووفقاً للإجراءات المعمول بها حالياً، تظل شركة ايه بي إم تيرمينالز البحرين مسؤولة عن تنفيذ عملية تفريغ الحاويات وضمان أمن وسلامة البضائع أثناء فتح الحاوية وتفريغ محتوياتها. 
كما تم إعداد آلية تشغيلية تفصيلية تحدد مسؤوليات جميع الجهات المعنية، بما في ذلك المخلصين الجمركيين، وعمليات ساحة الشحن (CFS)، وشؤون الجمارك، وشركة MMETCo، ومزودي خدمات النقل. 
وبعد انتهاء الفترة التجريبية البالغة خمسة أيام، سيتم تقييم فعالية هذا الترتيب بهدف تحسين زمن الإنجاز، وتقليل التأخيرات التشغيلية، وتعزيز تجربة العملاء في مستودع تفريغ الحاويات (CFS).
