APM Terminals Barcelona completes the installation of 2,500 m2 of solar panels

APM Terminals Spanish Gateways joins the Go Green environmental awareness initiative with a full agenda of activities

APM Terminals Barcelona is already equipped with 980 solar panels spread over the roofs of the car park and the new access building, generating 5.12% of the energy used by the terminal. This investment is part of the Good Practices Agreement signed with the Port Authority, and together with the fact that the electricity contracted already comes from renewable sources, APM Terminals Barcelona's carbon footprint is neutral.

The culmination of this project has been part of the agenda of Go Green environmental awareness initiative at APM Terminals Spanish Gateways. As every action counts, employees of the Valencia, Barcelona, Castellón and Gijón terminals have participated in waste management workshops, drills and activities promoted by the port authorities of Valencia and Barcelona.

Among them, APM Terminals Valencia has taken part in the conference Renewable Energies in Ports and in the exhibition about World Environment Day. In Barcelona, APM Terminals was involved in an action for the conservation of the Natural Spaces of the Llobregat Delta.

With initiatives such as Go Green, APM Terminals highlights projects underway to achieve net zero emissions by 2040 and a 70% total emission reduction by 2030.
