Go Green environmental awareness initiative's agenda includes its plan to achieve the company's global goals
APM Terminals Spanish Gateways has joined Go Green celebration this week, sharing with the entire team in Valencia, Barcelona, Castellón and Gijón, the roadmap set to locally contribute to the achievement of APM Terminals' global objectives to reduce CO2 emissions by 70% in 2030 and reach zero emissions in 2040.
Decarbonisation team has carried out virtual sessions for all colleagues, presenting possible scenarios, investments required, initiatives that are already being carried out to optimise energy consumption, certifications, financing and investment recovery plans. A presentation that, in a leading role, the team is already presenting to the port authorities, and will soon also present to Puertos del Estado.
The annual environmental awareness initiative Go Green has been held these days in the terminals under the slogan Improving Life for All, embracing the initiatives of World Oceans Day and World Environment Day to beat plastic pollution. To this end, since Friday, 2 June, the team has taken part in initiatives by the port authorities of Barcelona and Valencia, such as beach clean-up days, exhibitions and educational workshops for children. And in addition to the decarbonisation plans, management system, waste management and a theoretical spill simulation were also discussed during Go Green..
