Our Terminal

The Coman SA Container Terminal operates 24/7 and is open 365 days a year. It provides great value for customers and offers the highest levels of productivity and service in both vessel and landside operations. 

Established in 1998, Coman S.A, Container Terminal in Cotonou, Benin has been 100% owned and operated by APM Terminals since 2010. With around 400 employees, it has an annual throughput of around 300,000 TEUs. Coman SA Container Terminal is compliant with the International Ship and Ports Facility Security (ISPS) code.

The terminal operates 5 mobile harbour cranes. With a maximum lifting capacity of 144 tonnes, they are the largest in the port area. The terminal’s quayside operations have the highest crane productivity for Mobile Harbour Cranes in Africa. 

Location 

Benin, a West African nation with a population of 9.6m, shares borders with Togo and Burkina Faso to the west, Niger to the north, and Nigeria to the east. In addition to serving as Benin’s primary port, it is also a gateway for Nigerian cargo and transit cargo for Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso.
