got-container weighing services

Container Weighing (VGM)

The International Maritime Organization's standards make sea transport safer, by ensuring that only export containers with a verified weight are loaded onto a ship. The responsibility for compliance rests with the owner of the goods. The shipping company must be able to show that weighing has been carried out correctly before the container is loaded on the vessel.

Container weighing process

The weighing service must be booked www.weighingatapmterminals.se before the units arrive at the terminal. Goods arriving by train must be at the terminal 9 hours before cargo cut of time. Containers arriving by truck must enter the port through Gate 4. To ensure efficient processing, the driver must inform the gate that the container is to be weighed. After weighing, the Verified Gross Mass (VGM) is sent to the shipping company through EDI and the customer is notified via email.

To order VGM you will need to register the container number, mode of transport (by truck or by rail) and arrival date. For prices, please see our latest tariff's overview.
