GTI celebrates “Road Safety month”

GTI [APM Terminals Mumbai] firmly believes in safety at all levels. Safety is at the core of all our operation not just within the terminal. GTI believes in promoting safety beyond the terminal; to the societies and communities living around the terminal facility. In line with our safety philosophy, GTI in partnership with Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate, celebrated ‘Road Safety Month 2024’ with the underline theme of “To be a Road Safety Hero” earlier in the month. The program, inaugurated at the Local State Traffic Police Station Nhava Sheva was presided by Mr. G R Seshagiri Rao – CEO – GTI and attended by Sr. Police Inspector Mr. Gulfraj Mujawar and other esteemed guests from the traffic police.

As part of the program, we launched an awareness campaign on ‘Road Safety’ in Nhava Sheva amongst the truck and bike drivers. The drivers were explained the importance of wearing seat belts, reflective jackets, and Helmets [for bikers] while on road. They were urged to follow the traffic guidelines and rules to be safe and set an example of being a “Road Safety Hero”. Bike Helmets, Reflective Safety Jackets, and a booklet on twist-lock arrester, conceptualized by GTI were distributed to local villagers and Truck drivers. Sr. Police Inspector Mr. Gulfraj Mujawar applauded GTI’s initiatives on road safety during his speech and asked the drivers to stay safe while on road to avoid accidents.

The initiative was well received by the local community.
