Pioneering this essential culture, we have been able to minimize accidents in the terminal, thus providing a sense of security to both Employees and Stakeholders for smooth operations. Reiterating the terminal’s goal of Zero LTI, CEO, Mr. Pradip Agrawal rightly states, "Our benchmark is ZERO incidents".
APM Terminals Mumbai has an impressive safety record, with the Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) dropping 58.18 % from 2007 figure of 0.55 to 0.23 in 2011 (calculated on one-million man hours).
Some of the facilities available to ensure the wellbeing of our workforce include:
- Paramedic Services are available 24X7 at the terminal, free of charge. The First Aid centre is equipped with a Defibrillator, Breath Alcohol Analyzer testing machines, Manual Artificial Respirator, Suction Apparatus, Ambu Bag and more.
- Staff members are regularly trained in First Aid and Basic Life Support to tackle unforeseen circumstances.
- The health centre is supported by an air conditioned 4 bed ambulance. The drivers are trained to handle casualties untll medical assistance can be made available in case of emergencies.
- An Emergency Response Team has been set up at the terminal with members from different departments trained in first aid and CPR.
