APM Terminals Mumbai offers a number of trade-friendly initiatives for ease of doing business. These combine the latest technologies with state-of-the art facilities to speed up operations and save customers time and money. \
Via our Track & Trace system you can follow the status of your import or export container in real time. We also offer a variety of services to help container tracking as quick and efficient as possible:
Saved Container Watchlist
Saving containers to your Container Watchlist means you can monitor any changes without having to re-enter container IDs. You can also set filters on your Container Watchlist, for example, so you just see containers that have holds or that are ready for delivery.
On your Track & Trace Import Container search results page, select the containers you would like to save to your Container Watchlist and click 'Save Containers'. Access and update your Container Watchlist directly via Dashboard in the terminal website menu.
Receive Email Notifications
You can also choose to receive an email once or twice a day with a summary of the containers saved in your Saved Container Watchlist, without having to visit our website.
In your Saved Container Watchlist (access via Dashboard in a Terminal website menu), click on the Notifications button and then switch the toggle switch to on. You will then be asked to select the days a frequency with which you'd like to receive notifications.
Stop/Pause Email Notifications
If your Saved Container Watchlist is empty, you may want to temporarily stop receiving the daily email notification. To stop receiving Email Notifications, view your Saved Container Watchlist (access via Dashboard in a Terminal website menu), click the notifications button, and switch the toggle switch to off.
E-form 13 (Paperless import/export procedure)
APM Terminals Mumbai was the first Indian container terminal to offer paperless transactions for both exports and imports through E-Form 13, and online customs endorsements. This simplifies and streamlines export and import operations to reduce gate waiting time and congestion, and enable faster container movements into and out of the terminal. For example, with a click of a button on the web-based platform, the customs can confirm that the container can be loaded aboard the ship. Due to the web-based interface, exporters, shipping lines and customs can now also view cargo related information online.
Inter-terminal transfers through virtual gates
Tractor trailers are able to offload an export unit at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal (JNPCT) and proceed directly to APM Terminals Mumbai for onward pick up of an import container. This helps achieve faster turnaround of cargo at lower costs. Previously Tractor Trailers had to first offload the export container at JNPCT, exit through their gates and then proceed to APM Terminals’ Central Gate Complex, a distance of 5.5km.
APM Terminals Mumbai has three on-dock rails tracks of 830 meters, and three dedicated Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes (61 tonne max under Twin Mode).
Container tracking through RFID
The terminal uses a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) application loaded onto computer tablets to provide access to real-time container location data, significantly improving operational efficiency. This for example, enables Reach Stacker Operators to access real-time data on the status, location and next move of the containers with a single touch through computer tablets installed in the cabin.
Optical Character Recognition
All export containers arriving at the terminal’s gates are surveyed using digital cameras.
