GPPL Celebrates 25 Years of Successful LPG Handling at the port

GPPL (APM Terminals Pipavav) marks a significant milestone as it celebrates 25 years of successful and safe handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at the port. This remarkable achievement stands as a testament to the long-standing partnership between GPPL and Aegis Vopak Terminals Limited, a leading name in global infrastructure solutions and a trusted partner in the safe and efficient handling of bulk liquid products and gases. The port started the environment friendly rail siding in the beginning of 2022 and within a few months, the port loaded 1000th LPG rake, reinforcing our commitment in providing safe movement of LPG cargoes by rail.  

GPPL is investing in a new liquid berth to cater to the increasing demand for liquid cargoes and drive economic growth in the region. The partnership has provided vital LPG supplies to major Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) like Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, contributing to the success of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna.

Furthermore, in August 2023, GPPL elevated its liquid berth capability to a Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) compliant facility, providing a competitive edge in efficiently by handling VLGC vessels. Looking ahead, GPPL is poised to establish connectivity to the KGPL (Kandla Gorakhpur LPG Pipeline) by mid-2024. This strategic move is set to enhance the growth of LPG supply to central and northern India, complementing existing road and rail evacuation capabilities.
