Trade Advisory: Quay Cranes maintenance from 10 December 2026 to 09 January 2027

Dear Valued Customer,

Warm Greetings from APM Terminals Pipavav!

We would like to inform you that trolley rail replacement activities are scheduled to be carried out from 10 December 2026 to 09 January 2027 at Jetty side-GP4 in Pipavav Port.

To minimize operational disruption, the quay cranes will be taken out of service sequentially, ensuring that only one crane is under maintenance at any given time.

  • QC04 will undergo maintenance for 20 days (10 Dec to 30 Dec)
  • QC08 will undergo maintenance for 10 days (31 Dec to 09 Jan)

Please note that the crane undergoing trolley rail replacement will remain in the boom-down position for the entire maintenance period.

Bay Handling Restrictions during QC Maintenance (QC04/QC08)

Vessel LOA (m) Forward Bays Restricted
Aft Bays Restricted
 < 300  0  0
 300 – 315  0  2
 > 315  1  3

Shipping lines are requested to take the above bay restrictions into consideration while planning vessel stowage and cargo operations.

Pre-Arrival / Pre-Departure Information Requirements

In addition, for vessels calling during the planned maintenance period, vessel agents/operators are requested to provide the following information well in advance to facilitate operational planning and assessment:

  • Vessel air draft, accurately measured from the waterline to the vessel's highest point.
  • The longitudinal position of the highest point, including its distance from both the bow and stern.
  • An updated Pilot Card indicating the anticipated arrival and departure drafts, along with the corresponding air draft calculations.
  • Position of the accommodation block in relation to the bow and stern, so that any quay-side berthing limitations or restrictions can be assessed in advance.

Timely submission of the above information will assist in ensuring safe and efficient vessel handling during the maintenance period.

Additionally, we request all customers to maintain close coordination with both the Pipavav Operations and Marine Teams to facilitate smooth vessel handling during this period.

We appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and continued support. Should you require any assistance or clarification, please feel free to contact our Customer Service team at service.pipavav@apmterminals.com

Thank you for your continued trust and partnership.

Warm Regards,
