Hotbox Appointment

The Hotbox option gives customers the flexibility to pick up priority cargo in a time slot of their choice, even if that slot is already fully booked in TERMPoint. This is an optional premium service, not a requirement. It is intended for TERMPoint users who already have a confirmed appointment but would prefer to move their container pickup to a different time slot that better suits their or their customer’s needs.

How does it work?

  • When customers want to book an appointment to pick up a priority container but can't find an available time slot in TERMPoint that suits their (or their customers) needs, they can request a HOTBOX appointment at APM Terminals Elizabeth instead.
  • To request a Hotbox appointment, go to https://www.apmterminals.com/en/port-elizabeth/services/hotbox-request and fill out the form. You'll receive a confirmation email once your request is received.
  • The APM Terminals Customer Experience team will process your request. If a hotbox appointment is available, they'll send an email to confirm your booking. If not, they'll let you know that the request isn't possible.
  • Hotbox appointments are limited daily and are spread across multiple time slots. These appointments will be assigned on a First Come, First Serve basis when the terminal has capacity to offer.
  • APM Terminals will charge $84.39 per appointment, which is in line with the miscellaneous/admin fee in the tariff.
