Star Container Spain S.A. is a company dedicated to the trade, repair and conversion of containers. It was founded in 1989 with the original name of Contenedores del Mediterráneo (COMESA) and changed to Star Container Spain when it was acquired by the A.P.Moller-Maersk Group.
With more than 29.000 m2 of area designated to container repairs, Star Container Spain has an unbeatable location. Algeciras, situated at the frontier of two continents, and strategically located on the strait between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, it is the entrance to all traffic from Asia and America to Europe and Africa.
It is located just a few minutes from the Bahía de Algeciras Port and offers great transport connections to the city and the outskirts. The city’s rail line also forms part of the European Transportation Web (RTE-E).

Container services
Thanks to its strategic situation, very close to Algeciras’s terminals, Star Container Spain provides a range of container repair and maintenance services. Once the container gates in our premises, we evaluate the damages and if necessary we can perform the repair.

Container repairs
Star Container Spain is specialized in maintenance and repair of all type of containers. We have four repair shops with rolling bridges of up to 10-tonne capacity, brand new empty handlers and forklifts. We hold a large stock of spare parts and are a local dealer for all major reefer manufacturers.
Our welders are qualified to work with steel and aluminium, and can also perform foam injections for reefer containers. Our technicians are also qualified and officially certified to repair reefer units.
We are also able to quickly dispatch technicians for full container repairs at the terminal itself.
Container sale and leasing
Star Container Spain is present in all ports in Spain, Portugal and Italy and holds a large stock of new and used containers for sale or lease. With unmatchable prices and services, Star Container Spain can offer you a container wherever you need.
Container conversions
We design and build new types of non-standard containers. This includes the transformation of maritime containers into houses, offices, building, industrial plants, and anything that the imagination allows. These all possess the same inherent advantages of a container, such as its modularity, versatility, transportability and low cost.
ESPACIU project
Located at the University of Malaga, this project was made with 20 x 40-foot dry containers. The main conversion was carried out in our workshop and then assembled on location.
Naval base training
Commissioned by Hermes Engineers, we constructed a ship out of 20 x 20 ft containers, to be used for fire simulations at the Rota Naval Base, for the Spanish Navy.
