APM Terminals Japan's CEO, Sakura Kuma joins panellists at Sea Asia 2021

Sea Asia 2021, an international maritime event held every other year in Singapore, was held online for three days from September 21st to 23rd due to the impact of the Corona disaster this year. 

This year the event was supported by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, Lloyd's Ship Class Association, American Ship Class Association, Panama Maritime Bureau, PSA, and more. Through the participation of various maritime officials, a wide range of discussions took place covering topic such as decarbonization, digitization, Artificial Intelligence, and Diversity  & Inclusion. 

APM Terminals Japan's CEO, Sakura Kuma, took the stage during a session held on the 23rd to promote diversity & inclusion and the active participation of women in the maritime industry.

The session was moderated by Despina Panayiotou Theodosiou, Chairman of the Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA International). Sakura Kuma worked with other panellists from the same industry to develop women's human resources from both ground level and leadership perspective. 

Opinions were exchanged around topical issues, including environmental improvement and measures that can be implemented.
