GO GREEN APM Terminals Yucatán 2019

For the third year APM Terminals Yucatán participated in the global GO GREEN campaign. Go Green is an industry initiative to involve employees, families and communities in encouraging a positive culture and contributing to improving the environment.

This year, APM Terminals Yucatán chose to support the care and conservation of sea turtles in collaboration with “Secretaría de Desarrollo Sustentable” and their group of volunteers. Three of eight species of sea turtles that exist in the world, usually nest on the Yucatan Peninsula.

As part of the Sea Turtle Conservation and Protection Program, environmental awareness sessions were run for volunteers during the releases of the sea turtles, which helped expand communication and knowledge around the reproduction process that exists in our natural environment, and how people can support this through a few simple actions and respect for nature.

Thanks to 140 APM Terminals Yucatan employees, together with volunteers from civil organizations dedicated to the care of the sea turtles, 90 white turtle and hawksbill turtles were successfully integrated into their natural habitat. 

This is another way to show our commitment to social responsibility; to develop a better opportunity for our environment with the support of all those who were part of the GO GREEN campaign.
