Sweden’s greenest port welcomes the methanol-powered Laura Maersk: 'A green corridor between Sweden and the continent'

APM Terminals Gothenburg is proud to announce that the world’s first methanol-powered vessel, Laura Maersk, will be stopping in at the port weekly from week 20 (May 13th-19th). The stop marks an important milestone for sustainable transport and strengthens the port’s position as a leading player in sustainable logistics solutions.

'We're very pleased to welcome Laura Maersk to APM Terminals. As a result, our customers now have a virtually carbon-free corridor between Sweden and the major markets on the continent with the combination of rail and green shipping', says Brian Bitsch, Commercial Manager at APM Terminals Gothenburg.

Since 2020, APM Terminals Gothenburg has been a pioneer in sustainability and green logistics solutions.

'With the Green Gotheburg Gateway concept, we were able to help our customers minimise their transport emissions at an early stage. Laura Maersk stopping in at the port marks an important next step in the journey towards fossil-free transport and is an actionable response to customer demand', Brian Bitsch concludes.

Laura Maersk’s route will include Bremerhaven – Helsingborg – Halmstad – Gothenburg – Kalundborg – Kielerkanalen – Bremerhaven.
