Julián Fernández appointed new Managing Director for Spanish Gateway terminals

Current Manging Director at APM Terminals Poti, Julián Fernández, will assume the role of Managing Director of APM Terminals Spanish Gateways, effective 1st April 2024. He will take over from Carlos Arias de Molina, who is appointed CEO of APM Terminals Callao in Peru.

Julián Fernández brings senior leadership experience across Business Development, Finance and General Management. In 2008, he joined Maersk as CFO for Maersk Logistics (later Damco) in Brasil. In 2011, he transferred to APM Terminals, where he transitioned from Finance to Head of Business Development for Latin America, working on several large port concession tenders, as well as merger and acquisition projects. His subsequent role was Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Managing Director for APM Terminals Poti (Georgia), becoming MD in 2022.

carlos-ariasJulián Fernández is Colombian and has a Master in Business Administration degree from Fundação Getulio Vargas in Brazil. He is also a graduate of Maersk International Shipping Education (MISE), Inspiring Maersk and MAGNUM programmes and Esade Business School Executive Education.

Julián will assume his new responsibilities in Spain on 1st April, at which time Carlos Arias will officially take over as new CEO of APM Terminals Callao.
