APM Terminals Spanish Gateways supports 7 associations in the third edition of its Social Action Awards

The award ceremony will be held in Valencia on 19 December

The organisation of APM Terminals Spanish Gateways' Social Action Awards has once again chosen International Volunteer Day to announce the jury's decision on this initiative that involves both the company and its employees in helping collectives that need it most in the areas where it operates.

This year, once again, there are seven award-winning associations, with projects in the Valencian Community, Catalonia and Asturias, which focus their attention on people at risk of social exclusion, children, patients and people with disabilities.

Among the award winners this year is once again the Asociación de Padres y Amigos de Cardiopatías Congénitas de Gijón (Association of Parents and Friends of Congenital Heart Diseases of Gijón), which needs support to continue financing the accommodation of members who receive treatment far from home.

Also selected by the jury were the Catalan Association for the Prevention of Suicide, which will use its prize to finance support groups for the families of people at risk; the Association of Families of People with Intellectual Disabilities of Barcelona, which will also use the aid for activities with families; the Valencian Association of Parents of People with Autism, the National Association of People Affected by Non-Verbal Learning Disorder, the Valencian Community Solidarity Foundation of the Port of Valencia and Down Valencia Treballant Junts.

Three years helping in the areas where we operate

This year, 12 candidates were submitted by employees for the APM Terminals Spanish Gateways Social Action Awards, which were announced in September. In total, the company will donate 25,000 euros this year during a ceremony that will take place on 19 December, at APM Terminals Valencia.

APM Terminals Spanish Gateways' Social Action Awards are an initiative that seeks to contribute to the implementation of projects by non-profit organisations for social, educational, sporting and cultural development in the areas where we operate, involving both the company and the employees.
