New speedboat to streamline vessel handling at APM Terminals Moín

The speedboat, named the ‘Svitzer Moín’, is the latest addition to APM Terminals Moin’s fleet of vessels and will enable the terminal to be more agile in the handling of incoming and outgoing vessels.

This vessel, built in Turkey, is a 12-meter-long aluminum speedboat that can reach speeds of up to 32 knots. The Svitzer Moin is fully equipped for navigation and crew exchanges and its low draft of 0.5m, also allows it to operate in shallow waters.

It is equipped with a man-overboard recovery system, for rapid response to accidents and, given its agile handling, can be used effectively for the rapid deployment of barriers in the event of an oil spill.

“We are pleased to welcome this new member of our fleet, whose features and performance will help make APM Terminals Moín safer,” said José Rueda Salinas, Managing Director for APM Terminals, Moín.

Svitzer is part of parent company Maersk and is dedicated to the towing of ships in the ports where APM Terminals operates.
