With more than one million dollars in investment, APM Terminals Moín builds new return lane to speed up and make operations at the Container Terminal more secure

- The work will improve the logistic flow in the attention of the 110 trucks per hour that enter the TCM.

- It will facilitate returns and avoid risky maneuvers near Route 32.

In direct response to an operational need identified by carriers and logistics stakeholders, APM Terminals Moín began construction of a new return lane outside the main facilities, but within the concession area of the Moín Container Terminal (TCM).

With an investment of more than one million dollars, the work aims to order and streamline the entry and exit of trucks, reducing the risk of dangerous maneuvers near Route 32 and strengthening road safety in the area.

The infrastructure includes 260 linear meters from the pre-entry to its connection with Route 257. It will include land leveling, concrete pavement, signage, drainage systems, and road safety devices. It is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.

"This project responds to a real operational need and our commitment to modern, safe and resilient infrastructure. As a responsible concessionaire, we are also interested in improving the immediate environment of the terminal, because that has a direct impact on logistics efficiency and the user experience," said José Rueda, managing director of APM Terminals Moín.

The work is being executed under strict technical standards, in accordance with the Central American Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices and the Costa Rican Construction Code. No significant effects to the logistic flow are expected, since the works were duly scheduled and contemplate alternate internal routes that will be available if necessary.

Currently, APM Terminals Moín handles an average of more than 110 truck appointments per hour. The new return lane will allow carriers that must reschedule their appointments or complete requirements to return safely and without congesting the main access.

With this intervention, the company reaffirms its commitment to continuous improvement, safety and efficiency throughout the logistics chain.
