Trade Advisory: 2025 Precautionary Measures for Monsoon Weather

Dear valued Customers,

Due to expected severe weather conditions in the Arabian Sea during the monsoon season, all stakeholders are strongly urged to follow the safety guidelines issued by the Directorate General of Shipping, Gujarat Maritime Board, Indian Coast Guard, and other relevant authorities. Standard seamanship practices must also be strictly observed.

All Agents, Owners, Masters, and Managers must ensure their vessels are fully prepared for adverse weather. Vessels at berth or anchorage are required to keep their main engines on standby and maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 71. It is essential to stay updated with regular weather forecasts from the IMD and comply with all navigational warnings and storm advisories issued by the authorities. Agents, Owners, and Charterers must ensure that vessel Masters are kept informed of the latest weather developments and that all necessary precautions and safe seamanship practices are strictly followed.

Please note that any port closures or suspension of vessel movements due to weather will be treated as Non-Weather Working Days at APM Terminals Pipavav (GPPL).

This advance notice is intended to keep all stakeholders, agents, and customers informed. Specific details regarding any suspension or closure will be communicated as needed.
