Timely Evacuation of DPD Containers as per Customs Clarification

Dear Valued Customers,

Warm greetings from APM Terminals Pipavav!

As part of our continuous commitment to ensuring smooth operations and regulatory compliance, we would like to update you on the evacuation of Direct Port Delivery (DPD) containers in line with Indian Customs Notification No. 161/2016-Cus dated 29.11.2016, Public Notice No. 12/2024-2025/CCP/JMR, and subsequent clarifications issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Customs (Preventive), Jamnagar.

In the attached clarification notice, we had sought guidance from Customs on the following points, for which responses have been formally provided:

  • DPD Containers cleared within 48 hours
  • Applicability of the 48-hour timeline under exceptional scenarios
  • RMS Containers (Non-DPD)
  • Use of Terminal-based Notified Examination Area

We sincerely thank the Office of the Commissioner of Customs, Jamnagar, for their continued guidance, proactive engagement, and efforts to facilitate smooth trade operations through timely directions and consistent support to all stakeholders.

In view of the clarifications issued, all trade members and concerned stakeholders are requested to carefully review the attached Customs clarification notice and take necessary action in line with the guidance provided.

All applicable charges will continue to apply as per the General Tariff (Scale of Rates) available on our website: https://www.apmterminals.com/en/pipavav/services/tariffs

Your cooperation is essential to ensure compliance, efficient cargo flow, and continued benefits under the DPD scheme.
