Customer Advisory: Reiteration of Safety Requirements for Truck Operations Inside Terminal
Dear patrons & Business Partners,
Safety is at the heart of our values through us providing Constant care for Truckers and looking after our people. As leaders it is our personal and collective responsibility to ensure that APMT is a safe place to work and that everyone who works on our Terminals gets home safely.
In continuation to improve on safety standards within our port premises, herewith we would like to reiterate our safety requirements and norms to be followed by all truck operators entering port. Please find attached minimum safety requirements of trucks condition also.
- It is essential for all the operators entering port premises to go through safety induction training to obtain port entry pass.
- All trucks entering port premises should have working Head/taillights, reverse horn, Hand brakes and proper twist locks on all the corners for locking container.
- Container carried by truck to be properly locked from all 4 corners and unlocking to be done only at twist lock unlocking station.
- It is requested that all vehicles are fitted with a proper and functional twist lock arrangement. Vehicles with missing or non-working twist locks may not be permitted to operate inside the terminal.
- Trolley with uneven platforms having temporary arrangements are not allowed.
- Operators are not allowed to get down in operational area. In case of breakdowns or in emergency please contact on emergency number and show RED BAT card to operator/supervisor.
- Smoking is prohibited inside operational area. Carrying and consumption of restricted/Illegal substances inside port premises is prohibited.
- Only operator is allowed to enter port premises along with his truck.
- Operator should have proper Personal protective equipment’s.
- Speed limit and all other instructions displayed with in the port premises to be followed strictly.
- Containers should be surveyed at dedicated survey points only
- Drivers should be ensured to not get down from his vehicles within the port operational area.
- Unauthorized and improper parking inside port area is not allowed.
Please communicate with all concerns and take active part for our terminal safety. Thanking you in anticipation for your understanding and kind support as usual in this regard.
Continued safety non-compliance may result in review of driver and vehicle eligibility for port operations/visit, as per terminal safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
Note: Safety violations inside the port premises will be recorded and intimated to you. Repeated offenders will be blacklisted from entering the port.
