Rijeka Gateway terminal officially ready for operations
Rijeka Gateway has officially marked the completion of its testing phase and the beginning of full operations at the new container terminal. The event was dedicated to the employees and teams whose knowledge, commitment and cooperation made this milestone possible. During the celebration, CEO Peter Corfitsen and Member of the Management Board Tomislav Rosandić expressed gratitude to all colleagues involved in the project and highlighted the importance of the investment, worth €380 million. They underlined that the project has so far created more than 230 jobs and provides Rijeka with the opportunity to position itself as one of the key hubs in European and global logistics. The true strength of this terminal lies in its people, who have demonstrated expertise, resilience and dedication to a shared goal. As part of the event, the first truck entered the terminal and a commemorative plaque was presented to mark the start of regular operations. With the granting of the Occupancy Permit, the terminal is officially confirmed as ready for use.
The Rijeka Gateway terminal represents one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Croatia in recent years, combining demanding construction works with the installation of state-of-the-art equipment. The new terminal is expected to strengthen Rijeka’s position on the logistics map, ensuring higher safety and efficiency standards, as well as long-term benefits for the local and wider community.
