APM Terminals Valencia continues to strengthen its safety culture on Global Safety Day

The team place prevention at the centre under the motto “We Are Safer Together”

global-safety-dayThis week, APM Terminals Valencia celebrated once again Global Safety Day, aligned with the ILO World Day for Safety and Health at Work. Under the motto “We Are Safer Together”, the company placed a strong focus on psychological safety as a key enabler to prevent incidents, improve decision-making and strengthen the reliability of port operations in demanding and constantly changing environments.

“Safety does not depend solely on rules or equipment, but on how we look after one another when work does not go exactly as planned,” said Julián Fernández, Managing Director of APM Terminals Spanish Gateways. He highlighted that “creating environments where people feel able to speak up, ask questions or stop a job without fear is a shared responsibility and an essential condition for operating safely and sustainably.”

At APM Terminals Valencia focused the day on deep learning and continuous improvement. The programme featured a motivational conference on safety, health and wellbeing by Manel Bestratén, a recognised reference in the field. Safe practices were also acknowledged, a Dojo Safety immersive training space was inaugurated, and practical workshops and drills related to real operational risks were held. The day concluded with interactive panels and spaces for reflection on incidents and shared learnings.
