The Port of Salalah ran two events in support of GoGreen 2023, a global environmental initiative undertaken by members of the international ports and maritime community. The focus this year was: “Healthy Ecosystems and Beating Plastic Pollution”.

Together with the Environment Authority, employees from yhe Port of Salalah helped remove litter from Dahariz Beach in Salalah. The event highlighted the environmental impact from the plastic waste and focused on the impact of this type of pollution in sea water and on beaches.

Support was also extended beyond Salalah State through an informative and entertaining GoGreen event in Rakhyut State, approximately 145 Kilometers west of Salalah. In coordination with the Sawaed Al Khair Charity Association, which plays a key role in developing environment-friendly infrastructure, a team from the port supported the building of new roads using environment-friendly building methods. This not only brings environmental benefits but also supports social and economic development.
