Customer Advisory - External Truck BAT Number

Dear Valued Customers,

As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted terminal operations at Khalifa Bin Salman Port, we would like to bring to your attention an important update regarding the display of BAT numbers on external trucks entering the terminal.

Following multiple reports from our equipment operators—particularly RTG operators it has been observed that the current placement and size of BAT numbers on truck windshields are often not sufficiently visible from operational heights. This reduced visibility increases the risk of misidentifying trucks, may result in delays, and can potentially lead to operational errors, including the incorrect assignment of containers.

To address this concern, APM Terminals Bahrain has conducted successful visibility tests using enlarged BAT number plates installed on the truck roof. A sample size of 110 cm x 35 cm was found to be clearly visible from RTG operating height and significantly enhances operational accuracy and efficiency.

Accordingly, we strongly request all transport companies to:

• Install a clearly visible BAT number plate on the truck roof.
• Ensure the BAT number is displayed in large, bold print similar to the tested dimensions (110 cm x 35 cm).
• Always maintain the number plate in a clean and readable condition.
• Recommended font type: Arial Body CS – Bold.

Implementation Deadline:

Please be advised that the **last date for accepting trucks without the new BAT number plate is: 15 December 2025
After this date, any truck that does not comply with the above requirements will not be permitted to enter the terminal.

في إطار التزامنا المستمر بضمان سير العمليات في ميناء خليفة بن سلمان بأعلى مستويات السلامة والكفاءة والانسيابية، نود لفت عنايتكم إلى تحديث مهم يتعلق بطريقة عرض أرقام BAT للشاحنات الخارجية عند دخولها الميناء.

وفقًا لعدد من الملاحظات الواردة من مشغلي المعدات، وخصوصًا مشغلي رافعات RTG، تبين أن موقع وحجم أرقام BAT الحالية المثبتة على الزجاج الأمامي للشاحنات غير واضح بشكل كافٍ من ارتفاعات التشغيل. هذا الانخفاض في مستوى الوضوح قد يؤدي إلى صعوبة التعرف على الشاحنات، وينتج عنه تأخير في العمليات، إضافة إلى احتمالية حدوث أخطاء تشغيلية مثل تخصيص حاويات لشاحنات خاطئة.

ومن أجل معالجة هذا الأمر، قامت شركة أي بي إم تيرمنالز البحرين بإجراء اختبارات ناجحة باستخدام لوحات كبيرة تحمل أرقام BAT ومثبتة أعلى سقف الشاحنة. وقد أثبتت النتائج أن الحجم 110 سم × 35 سم واضح ومناسب للرؤية من ارتفاع تشغيل رافعات RTG ، مما يساهم بشكل كبير في تحسين الدقة التشغيلية ورفع كفاءة العمل.

وبناءً عليه، نرجو من جميع شركات النقل الالتزام بما يلي:

تركيب لوحة واضحة تحمل رقم BAT على سقف الشاحنة •
التأكد من أن الرقم معروض بخط كبير وواضح وبمقاسات مماثلة للمقاسات المختبرة (110 سم × 35 سم) •
 الحفاظ على نظافة اللوحة وضمان وضوحها بشكل دائم.•
 الالتزام بأن يكون الرقم معروضًا بخط كبير وواضح، ونوع الخط المقترح هو Arial Body CS – Bold )عريض.( •

الموعد النهائي للتطبيق:

يرجى ملاحظة أن آخر يوم لقبول الشاحنات بدون لوحة BAT الجديدة هو:

15 ديسمبر 2025 وسيتم بعد هذا التاريخ رفض دخول أي شاحنة لا تلتزم بالمعايير المحددة أعلاه.
