New shortsea service strengthens connection between Scandinavia and the Baltics
Starting July 16, 2025, CMA CGM will launch the new Scandinavia West Coast Express (SWX) – beginning in Gothenburg. This new shortsea route provides fast, reliable, and sustainable transport between Scandinavia and the southern Baltic region, further strengthening APM Terminals Gothenburg’s shortsea offering.
Shorter lead times and a sustainable alternative to road transport
With weekly departures every Wednesday from APM Terminals Gothenburg, the SWX service offers a regular and predictable solution for both import and export flows. The fixed route rotation includes: Gothenburg – Aarhus – Klaipėda – Gdansk – Gothenburg, with transit times of just 2–4 days between Scandinavia and the Baltics.
For cargo owners seeking innovative alternatives to road transport, SWX offers a dependable, sustainable, and high-capacity sea solution.
“With this new schedule, customers can expect faster transit times, greener transport alternatives and seamless integration with CMA CGM’s global network. It’s a strong step toward connecting Scandinavia and the Baltics more efficiently — both commercially and from a suitability point of view. We're both grateful and proud to be able to support CMA CGM with this new and exciting schedule,” explains Mikael Gutman, Managing Director APM Terminals Nordics.
Intermodal connections via rail
