Port of Kalundborg and APM Terminals Offers Full Service with New Customs and Veterinary Control Facility
With the completion of the new Customs and Veterinary Control facility, customers of APM Terminals Kalundborg can now enjoy a full-service container terminal.
APM Terminals Kalundborg is happy to announce that the new facility for Customs and Veterinary Control is ready. The terminal operated by APM Terminals since March 2021, is now undergoing rapid development.
Bent Rasmussen, Director of KTT, a company that, among other things, specialises in high-quality fish oil storage, highlights the impact of the new facility:
"Due to a global goods shortage, we currently procure fish oil in smaller batches worldwide, transported to KTT in flexibag containers. As the oil is sourced from a third country, it must pass through a designated Border Control Post (BCP). Previously, this process has been carried out through other BCPs/Ports in Denmark, followed by truck transport to Kalundborg. The recent approval of the BCP, coupled with APM Terminals Kalundborg now offering full-service capabilities, is fantastic news for optimizing and streamlining our operations.”
Mikael Gutman, the Managing Director of APM Terminals Nordic, is also enthusiastic for the remarkable progress in Kalundborg, stating, "It is truly gratifying to witness the dynamic evolution of the container terminal and the entire port infrastructure here in Kalundborg. The completion of the new Customs and Veterinary Control facility represents yet another important milestone in our journey."
