Update on Empty Return Appointments and TERMPoint system issue
Dear Trucking Community,
APM Terminals Elizabeth is aware of the empty return challenges many of our valued truckers are facing in the region and is doing everything possible to ensure we are taking in as many empties as we can safely accommodate in the terminal yard.
Many efforts to increase our empty container capacity within our limited footprint are being implemented, including construction to make more space in our existing container yard. We continue to work closely with our steamship line customers to optimize daily empty container intake by maximizing empty return appointments and consistently avoiding complete and/or unplanned empty shutouts for any steamship line customer.
Furthermore, we understand that TERMPoint users (truck appointment system) have been experiencing issues specifically around 09:00AM when logging in to secure empty returns for the next day. We implemented a fix earlier this week that unfortunately did not seem to resolve the issue. An emergency technical meeting took place on 28 July, to reassess and rectify the situation.
