APM Terminals Mexico handles more than 41,000 TEUs in Yucatán during H1 202
Innovation and digitalization are key pillars of APM Terminals Mexico’s strategy, leveraging advanced technology and automated solutions to enhance productivity, optimize processes, and reduce vessel and cargo dwell times.
APM Terminals Lázaro Cárdenas delivered strong growth in the first half of 2026, handling 684,599 TEUs, up 35% from 508,506 TEUs in the same period of 2025. The result reflects the terminal’s growing role in Mexico’s trade and logistics network, supported by continued investment in automation, technology and operational efficiency.
As of June 2026, APM Terminals Lázaro Cárdenas handled 416,102 TEUs in transshipment volumes and recorded a 37% increase in full container movements, underscoring its strategic role as a key hub for Mexico’s foreign trade and logistics chain.
This performance reflects the terminal’s operational capacity to handle higher cargo volumes, supported by a modernization, automation and digitalization strategy focused on optimizing processes and delivering greater efficiency across the logistics ecosystem.
In Yucatán, APM Terminals also continued to advance its terminal modernization program while handling 41,442 TEUs during the first half of 2026. The transformation and infrastructure expansion underway are designed to strengthen operational capacity, support the region’s commercial and logistics activity, and contribute to Yucatán’s economic development.

As part of this journey, APM Terminals Yucatán is one of three pilot terminals worldwide implementing new electrification solutions designed to help accelerate the energy transition and the decarbonization of the port industry.
