Kristian Bai Hollund
Kristian Bai Hollund assumed the role of Interim Chief Financial Officer effective 1 December 2023, having previously served as Operations Chief Financial Officer for APM Terminals, responsible for financial planning across the company’s global terminal portfolio, investment analysis, project finance and global performance management.
In this role since 2018, he was responsible for, among other things, separating out APM Terminals reporting into different segments, redesigning the investment process to get more senior involvement in problem solving earlier in the decision making process, implementing a strategy execution process in line with Lean principles and a reorganisation to allow for a more decentralised setup.
After completing a B.Sc. in International Business at Aarhus University Business School (Denmark) and Leipzig University (Germany) in 2001, and an M.Sc. in Finance at Aarhus University Business School (Denmark) in 2004, he joined Maersk in 2005. His career with Maersk spans almost 20 years, during which he has held a number of country CFO roles in Europe and Asia as well as being the Commercial CFO for Maersk Line.
“As a CFO, I am driven by the results of the business, providing insights to design the right strategy and turning that strategy into execution,” says Kristian Bai Hollund. “I believe it is important that we as a business find opportunities that make us stand out in the market. This will only happen if we have a strong understanding of the markets we operate in and a detailed understanding of our own business model, assets and unique capabilities.”
