New Investment at Poti Sea Port - APM Terminals Poti purchases new Mobile Harbor Crane to enhance its operational capabilities

APM Terminals Poti has recently received an additional mobile harbor crane to continue modernization of Poti Sea Port with brand-new equipment.

With the purpose of increasing operational capacity and cargo handling efficiency at Poti Sea Port, the company has purchased an additional Mobile Harbor Crane. The Gottwald brand crane was manufactured in Germany this year, specifically to comply with Poti Sea Port (APM Terminals Poti) requirements. Equipped with the latest technology, the crane has a load capacity of up to 100 tons and can handle various types of cargo, such as containers, bulk, general and project cargo.

“As safe and uninterrupted service delivery is one of the contributing factors to positive customer experience, improving availability and reliability of key cargo handling equipment - crane has been strategically prioritized by the company. Strengthening the equipment with additional Mobile Harbor Crane will enable the port to serve customers more effectively and have positive impact on the supply chain in general which plays a crucial role for the economies of Georgia and the entire region.” – Matthew Rantanen, Chief Operations Officer.

The new crane has already been commissioned and is to be deployed in operations. Depending on the needs, the crane can be flexibly relocated across APM Terminals-operated berths.
